About us

The Arena Sports Centre is a dual-use facility, which opened in 1999. It was funded by a combination of funding sources from Bognor Regis Community College, West Sussex County Council, Bognor Regis Town Council, Arun District Council & local Parish Councils, along with a lottery grant of £2.29 million. Since 1999, there have been a number of extensions onto the building to accommodate the Sports College, School Sports Co-ordinator & the West Sussex Adult Education reception.

The Arena Sports Centre is a department of Bognor Regis Community College, which has over 1700 students and has specialist status in 'Sport', therefore the Arena Sports Centre plays an important role in facilitating this status. It also is home to a Partnership Development Manager who co-ordinates the local school sport co-coordinators, who in turn link with the primary and special school link teachers.

In November 2005, the facility gained the award of 'Investors in People' & in 2007 the Arena Sports Centre was privileged to be identified by Sport England as a facility that was regarded as having 'Best Practice' in regards to it's usage & management. The Arena was one of only 24 projects nationally & one of four in the South East of England.
