Adult Swimming Courses

Introducing ‘SWIMFIT’ a gym style workout for the swimming pool.

For adults from 16 years of age.

Developed by the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) this is an online club that is free to join: www.swimfit.com

With advice and training programmes available on-line ‘swimfit’ is motivation for swimmers needing encouragement and an incentive to continue swimming regularly. The programme and associated awards, help people to enjoy distance swimming.

With our adult swimming sessions priced at just £3.00 for a session and no non-member entry fees to pay, pick up your ticket from reception today!

Tickets should be surrendered to the lifeguard on arrival at the swimming pool. (Junior swimfit is also available for the 8 - 15 year olds)

Adult - Private Swimming Lessons

Learn to swim or improve your technique with a swimming teacher to yourself!

Costs: £10.50 for a 1-1 lesson or £12.50 for a 2-1 lesson.

Each lesson lasts for 20 minutes and should be booked and paid for in advance at the Arena reception where a ticket will be issued. This ticket will be collected by the swimming instructor before the lesson begins.

We can offer a range of times, days and instructors to suit your requirements.

Early Bird Swimming with ‘Swimfit’

This course runs during term time only and should be booked in advance.

Ladies Only Swimming with ‘Swimfit’

A turn up and pay session.
One hour of recreational swimming in a ladies only group.
With a female lifeguard.
£3.00 per session.
Tickets must be purchased from the Arena reception desk and handed to the lifeguard on arrival on
poolside.

Adults Only Swimming with ‘Swimfit’

A turn up and pay session.
One hour of recreational swimming.
£3.00 per session.

Swimming Teaching Awards

We are able to offer the ‘Beginner’ and ‘Full’ Swimming Teachers courses. These run on an irregular basis during school holidays.
For anyone hoping to start a career as a swimming professional
The Beginners course lasts 4 days.
The Full teachers course lasts 5 days.
Candidates for the Beginners course must be over 16 years of age
Candidates for the Full teachers course must be over 18 years of age.

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

As an Approved Training Centre for lifeguards, we are able to offer these courses several times a year. This National qualification enables the holder to work as a professional Lifeguard and shouldn't be
confused with similar sounding courses which are not as widely accepted as the NPLQ.
Courses are normally held during school holidays and last 6 days.
Candidates are required to attend 100% of the course in order to take the exam
Candidates must be over 16 years of age before the start of the course.
