Adult Swimming Courses

Early Bird Swimming

This course runs during termtime only and should be booked in advance. Please contact the Arena reception for current dates and prices.

Ladies Only Swimming

A turn up and pay session. One hour of recreational swimming in a ladies only group. There is a female lifeguard and a swimming instructor available to give advice on technique. £3.00 per session.
Tickets must be purchased from the Arena reception desk and handed to the lifeguard on entering the pool.

National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

As an Approved Training Centre for lifeguards, we are able to offer these courses several times a year. This National qualification enables the holder to work as a professional
Lifeguard.
Courses are normally held during school holidays and last 6 days.
The cost is currently £160.00
Candidates are required to attend 100% of the course in order to take the exam
Candidates must be over 16 years of age before the start of the course.

Swimming Teaching Awards

We are able to offer the ‘Beginner’ and ‘Full’ Swimming Teachers courses. These run on an irregular basis during school holidays.
For anyone hoping to start a career as a swimming professional
The Beginners course lasts 5 days and currently costs £180.00
The Full teachers course lasts 5 days and currently costs £200.00
Candidates for the Beginners course must be over 16 years of age
Candidates for the Full teachers course must be over 18 years of age.
